An alternative to Gmailify

Gmailify let Gmail look after mail from your Yahoo or Outlook.com address. With Gmailify being retired, Clacks brings that mail into your Gmail inbox instead.

What is changing

What Gmailify did, and what changes

According to Google, Gmailify applied Gmail features such as spam protection and inbox organisation to accounts from other providers. Google's Gmail Help page says it no longer supports new users after the first quarter of 2026, and that existing users can keep it until January 2027.

A one-way import, not a linked account

Clacks copies new mail into Gmail. Reading, archiving or deleting a message in Gmail does not change the copy at your other provider, so Gmail becomes where you read that mail and the other mailbox is its source.

How it helps

Your other accounts, handled by Gmail

Gmail's spam filtering

Imported messages go through Gmail's normal spam classification, much as mail delivered to Gmail does.

Labelled by source

Give each account its own label, and choose whether its mail lands in the inbox or only under that label.

Keep or clear the original

Leave messages on a POP3 server or delete them after import; for IMAP, mark them as read or delete them once imported.

Any POP3 or IMAP mailbox

Clacks works with any mailbox you can reach over POP3 or IMAP.

FAQ

Gmailify questions

Does Clacks sync read and deleted status back to Yahoo or Outlook.com?

No. Clacks imports new mail into Gmail one way. What you do with a message in Gmail does not change the original.

Can I keep a copy at my original provider?

Yes. For POP3, leave messages on the server; for IMAP, have Clacks mark them as read instead of deleting them.

Which providers work?

Any provider that lets you sign in over POP3 or IMAP. Some providers ask you to create an app password for this.

I used POP fetching rather than Gmailify. Is that covered?

Yes. The Gmail POP3 replacement guide walks through moving a “Check mail from other accounts” setup to Clacks.
